Just want to get home

Still having flight issues

OK so qantas are incompetent. Paul and I have been charged $175 each just because we dont want to fly from Paris to London...a ticket which we have already paid for.
I rang them this morning and thought everything would be sorted today but it appears they have reissued the ticket EXACTLY the fkn same as before...so basically charged me $175 for doing absolutely nothing.
Last night we went out to Ministry of Sound and saw some wicked trance - such a good night! Rank One at the end played an awesome set...along with the fight DJ who I am not 100% sure who he was.
After dancing all night and having little sleep - checking out of our hotel around 11.30am I was expecting to check my email and have everything all fixed up from qantas but NOOO that would be too much to ask. I am tired and cranky and fkn sick of calling the incompetent call centre people which costs a fortune and they end up putting me on hold for ages...

RAAAAA I just want to go home - why is it so hard??
Hopefully I will see all my friends and family soon...

Back in london

Stoopid qantas

Well we are back in London after a little over a week partying in Barcelona. We were scheduled to fly from Paris to London then London back home and since the RyanAir flight we booked from Spain to Paris had to be rescheduled due to a baggage handler strike we couldnt end up changing the flight to get to Paris in time.
However after calling qantas and asking them if we can fly straight from London and cancel our Paris to London flight they apparantly need to reissue are tickets -- which suprise, suprise costs around AUS$100 plus £30 taxes...great!
What should be a simple cancellation from a pointless flight from Paris which we need to change planes in London anyway this has become a big deal. I am so sick of trying to make adjustments to flights as everything is so difficult and annoying. Surely qantas can make money from selling our 2 seats from Paris to London and we should just be able to cancel and get home via London but NOOO...
Anyway we have to call the stupid call centre again after 6.15pm London time to see if we can reissue our tickets.
Anyways we are going to make the most of it while we are here and probably checkout the Gatecrasher night at Ministry of Sound later tonight. We still need to get through 1L of vodka so will have to go back soon and start drinking :)
Flying home tommorrow!!!!
Cyas all when I get back on monday...

Still in Barcelona

non stop party place

Tommorrow we will have been in Barcelona for a week and its starting to take its toll. Each night we have been going out partying with different people from the hostel. Cuz and I have been to the 1.50 euro shot bar El Chambra every night since we have been here!
Tonight we might take it easy but we have heard there will be a party on the beach later which I could be tempted to check out. We fly out of Barcelona on the 18th for Paris after getting a cheap 30 euro flight.
Getting to the last few days of our holiday and I must say I am getting excited to get back home to relax and stop living out of a bag.
Yesterday we chilled out on the beach and I jumped in the water a couple of times. The sun was out but later on in the day the wind picked up which made things abit cold. I got a 5 euro back massage from one of the asian girls that go around the beach. You can get beers, chips, temporary tatoos and find you have to keep saying ´no thanks´ over and over to these sometimes overly persistent beach peddlers.
About to go for a walk and take a couple of photos and get some food. I also want to look around the markets for a couple of pressies cos I havent bought really anything for people back at home.
We have heard Paris is quite expensive so hopefully we dont end up spending too much money there before we go home. Still there is plenty to see around the place without spending the earth and it should be a cool place to hangout for a couple of days.
All is well here and this will probably be one of my last updates before I head back home. When I get back on the computer I will update the blog with photos cos I still havent had a chance to get them on the net.
Most of my pics from Barcelona have been from going out which is why I want to take a couple now of some of the nice buildings around.
Still feel abit queezy from last night but after getting some food I should be all good.
Adios!

Hola from Barcelona

Las Ramblas

Got to Spain on sunday 8th after spending over a week in London. It was good to get back to euros cos the aussie dollar doesnt go far in London.
The hostel is right in the heart of Barcelona and has been great fun - good people and happy hour - 2 litres of Heineken for 4 Euros. Apparantly the aussie travellers like to take advantage of the deal more than others.
Went on a pub crawl last nite and it was good to go around with a group into a few different pubs and clubs (even though the music wasnt really my style..)
Attempted to get across to Oporto in Portugal today on the train but had no luck cos it was full. We are not sure if its going to be worth going across there now as we have to be in Paris by the 20th.
Our holiday is almost at an end but it has been good. Havent taken too many pics here cos I thought I lost my camera - it was all good I was just so drunk when I put it away I forgot where it was.
Anyway happy hour is almost upon us.
Till my next update...

Last weekend in london

next destination Barcelona

Spent the last week in London after what was a relaxing week in Amsterdam. I must admit that the 'dam is not nearly as dodgy and scarey the second time round...I guess I just didnt know what to expect when I went there in '03.
London is starting to get cool and the last couple of days it has rained.
One of my old school mates Vin got married on the weekend and everything went really well. I got suited up (even with top hats and canes!) I didnt drop the rings or stuff up the speech...so overall it was a successful day.
We attempted to go out after the reception - after a huge taxi ride back from wherever we were to our hotel in Paddington. We have been really lucky with accommodation in London this time - been paying less than £20 ea (for a twin room). The best part of it really is the location.
Tonight should be huge -- and tommorrow night actually. Paul and I, along with a little chicky Paul met the other night @the walkabout are going to checkout Fabric...that is if I cant convince everyone to go see Ed Rush and Optical at Ministry of Sound instead...
Gonna be a large night anyway.
Sorry I still have no photos up...I havent even backed them up yet either. Paul broke his camera last night so there is only one between us now...and thats my super 2 MEGApixel :p
Anywayz I still gotta check email and go to the bank later so I am signing off...
Safe Geezers!
